Molly E. Athorn, 33, of Palmyra "had many health issues" that worsened and sent her to a local emergency room on Thursday, Sept. 7., 2023, her husband Nate explained in a Facebook post.
She was surrounded by loved ones when she passed around 5 p.m., he explained.
Molly was born in Hershey on Aug. 29, 1990, and was raised in Hummelstown, according to her obituary.
As a girl, she was a good friend to all who knew her and made another girl's childhood "bright during dark times," one friend said in a post going on to say, she'll always remember "playing with her American girl doll with her when I came to visit. I remember the books she gave me that got me into my love for reading."
Molly grew up with a love of gymnastics, going to the beach, and playing board games, according to her obituary. She went on to graduate from Lower Dauphin High School in 2009 and earned her Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University.
She was a registered dietician who spent her free time exercising, watching TV, and with her husband, as detailed in her obituary.
"Molly was a fighter with an optimistic spirit, even over the course of her health struggles," her obituary states.
She is survived by her husband Nate Athorn; parents Mark and Cecelia (O’Lear) Baldwin; brothers Andy Baldwin of Sheffield, Massachusetts, and Alex, husband of Katie Baldwin of Whiteman AFB, Missouri, and their twins Ainsley and Archer as well as extended friends and family.
Nate's beautiful wife will always be remembered for her kind heart and "1,000-watt smile," one mourner wrote.
Her mom is planning a celebration of life to be announced at a future date.
